Here is an illustration that I did in tribute to the movie "300". Wanting to keep with the movies grungy visual effects I incorporated quite a few splatter patterns. This helped set the mood of... BLOODY CARNAGE! A reference image was used for the initial rough sketch but, after the stance was developed I tried to capture the look of King Leonidas of "Sparta" from memory.
